Don't be ridiculous. If your I-140 and I-485 are approved, this will not affect it. They are auditing PERM that is in process. FYI- Your employer needs to show that there are no qualified US workers for the position that they are recruiting for on PERM. This audit is about employers using FDBL to try to disqualify qualified US workers. This audit will delay PERM applications, but will not affect I-140 s or I-485's that are approved.

Has anyone else come accross this problem? I wanted to remitt funds to India and when I logged in to SBI GLS web site I got the following message:
Due to regulations applicable in your state of residence in USA, we regret that, at present, we are unable to continue offering SBI Express Remit - US (our product using direct debit facility through ACH) till further notice.
We are engaged in meeting the state's current regulatory requirements, and it will be our endeavor to restore to you at the earliest the convenience you have been enjoying. Meanwhile, you may use the aid of Rapid Remittance (Web-assistance for tracking wire transfers) when you use wire transfer from your bank to send funds to your beneficiary accounts in India.
Please mail any of your queries to our customer support team at

Its very simple, they are anti-immigrant channels, dont you know lou dobbs, o'rielly anti-immigrant shows have more ratings, so there is no way they want their viewer change their mind on immigration system. they are surviving on anti-immigrant programs.

IV is not giving any updates on the public forums at this time and risk our ongoing efforts. Do not quote some annonymous members on other forums or this forum to elicit a response from IV. Do not continue to start new threads asking for updates and asking core members for answers. You, an IV member is our answer and you yourself can also provide answer to all of us by helping us. It is our combined effort that will lead to a solution for all of us. IV core is working hard to make something happen but you all are our legs and support us. We would like to encourage members to actively participate in state chapters, and they can get to know our action plans by participating in them. We also want members to actively participate in funding drive and we will be communicating with such contributing members. This would encourage members to help IV to help everyone and themselves with their efforts. Till now merely 154 members have commited funds in the past 1 week. We can get thousands of opinions on forums on a given subject, but it is really hard to have a meagre $20 contribution from members. Without contributions we will be limited in our efforts. It is very critical for our success and to achive our common goal. IV will not survive without being able to fund our efforts and members can continue to debate on various provisons on forums without much hope for any relief. I stumbled across this thread and this seems to be a great initiative that is managed professionally.
I browsed though the IV website and forums and have few questions regarding who IV is representing among the employment based immigrants:
1. I've a 3 yrs baccalaureate degree from India and have filed GC in EB3 category. How do IV initiatives helps me?
2. My friend have 4yr engineering degree from India and have filed GC in EB3 category. How do IV initiatives helps him?
3. My boss has Masters Degree from India and has 10 yr of experience. He filed his GC in EB2 category. Is IV for him?

I have an EB3 LC/I-140 (2003 PD) approved from company X, now if I join company Y and file a new LC in EB2, can I retain my old PD?

I think if you are applying for differnt catagory then Position need to be different (Eb3- Eb2) and you can carry your old PR date. If you trying to apply PERM with same catagory then you can carry old PR date but can be in Same position, not sure you have withdraw first LC or not, consult few attroney before take any action.

I remember reading in one of the threads here that USCIS computer system automatically generates FP notices if its more than 15 months. By the way, if they don't issue us one, why we do need to ask them using congressmen etc? Is the burden of giving FP every 15 months falls on the applicant?

I swear I've searched everywhere but I can't find anything on the subject. I would appreciate it if someone could give me advice on how to approach AOS.
I am the beneficiary of a LPR, currently on F1 status. My PD is current and I'm ready to file my i-485. The only issue is, I've been self-employed for 2 years. It may sound very bad, but my only source of income has been as follows,
1. Buying/selling stuff online under my business name
2. Contract work/1099's- built website templates for clients
I didn't really work for money, nor did I make much. We're talking <$5K each year. My work can thus be categorized as "hobby", but I'm not sure if that helps at all. Also, I operated via my laptop, and only ever "rarely" because I never had too much time in my hands being a full-time student.
On the face of it, I made some income, but I never lied or have been an employee. I didn't know until recently that even working "for fun" could get me big trouble.
My laywer is skeptical about moving forward with AOS, but I don't have much choice. What do you guys suppose I do? Disclose my work in the forms and take a risk, or don't disclose my work and take a risk?

Thats is the law. They have to provide no matter how much blood suckers they are. Of course it depends on how you make them realize that.
I was offered one when i was in that situation way back in 99.
Its as per law. But in practice, we do not see it happening much. maybe I am not aware. Anyway getting a flight ticket back to home country is not an issue for a great discussion :)
